What is HOPE FOR THE FUTURE?

With the countless negative life influences facing young Aboriginal Canadians today, it is imperative that a community and network of resources devoted to their healthy development exists. Hope for the Future is exactly that- an outlet where organizations and groups devoted to developing today’s Aboriginal youth, can look to create awareness. At Hope for the Future, we strongly believe that prosperity is reached through community awareness initiatives.

Hope for the Future is the portal to information and news needed to make a difference in the lives of Canada’s Aboriginal youth. We promote prevention programs and career opportunities that build self esteem, and hope for the future for our Aboriginal youth. We also share stories of programs and initiatives that have been successful in dealing with and preventing the serious social problems that can lead to the detriment of Canadian Aboriginal youth.

Our aim is to shed light on the positive influences and options available to Aboriginal youth. To ensure we maximize our impact on the community, we offer two means of access to the information- hopeforthefuture.ca and our two publications; The First Nations Resource Magazine, and The Native & Inuit Resource Magazine.

What is HOPEFORTHEFUTURE.CA?

Hopeforthefuture.ca’s goal is to become the online community for people who work with Canadian Aboriginal youth. It is a place to learn about and share success stories about higher learning and community programming. It is a place to promote and discover career and job opportunities within various learning institutions and industries. It is also a place where youth can express and find themselves with a positive voice.

We are reaching out to businesses, governments, learning institutions, community organizations, and individuals to support this cause by sharing your ideas, and spreading the word about this online community. We truly believe that by creating healthy communities as a whole, we also create hope for the future.

What are THE FIRST NATIONS RESOURCE MAGAZINE and THE NATIVE & INUIT RESOURCE MAGAZINE?

We offer two published resources; The First Nations Resource Magazine and The Native & Inuit Resource Magazine. Both publications are distributed to groups and organizations in Aboriginal communities across Canada, with a target readership of those who are devoted to making a creating a positive environment for Aboriginal youth.

The First Nations Resource Magazine was first published in 1996, and later joined by The Native & Inuit Resource Magazine in 2000. Just like hopeforthefuture.ca, our magazines contain information and stories that deal with and aim to prevent crucial issues like Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Family Violence, School drop outs, Youth Boredom, Depression, etc.

Our growing readership is thanks to the support of our partners. It is because of their sponsor ads and editorials that we are able to distribute our magazines, free of charge. The goal of both The First Nation Resource Magazineand The Native & Inuit Resource Magazine is to provide Canadian Aboriginal youth with positive influences and options. By fostering the healthy development of our youth, we also foster hope for the future.
