We are currently producing a 6 part reality/documentary TV series for APTN called Watchers of the North for broadcast in 2013. And we need you! Our team includes training and career development opportunities for aboriginal students, recent graduates and those interested in exploring new career options, in the form of internship positions.
Website content creation and management (mid October 2012- end of January 2013): This 16 hour a week position involves writing and editing English texts, selecting photos, giving input on web design- everything that goes into organizing and managing website. No programming skills required. (honorarium)
Inuktitut translation (approx. 8 hours a week- November 2012- end of January 2013): Translating English texts into Inuktitut syllabics for the series website (honorarium).
Social media and Promotion (part-time- February-May 2013): Involves writing blog posts, Twitter and Facebook posts, helping to create a press kit for the series, creating an aboriginal media database, and other efforts to connect viewers to the series (honorarium)
Video editing (October 2012- January 2013): Sound and picture editing to create a series of short web videos for the series website. Editing behind-the-scenes footage, selecting music and creating. Knowledge and access to an editing system is needed (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, IMovie) (honorarium)
Sales and Marketing (October 2012- January 2013): Creating a written sponsorship package and then approaching potential broadcast and contest sponsors for the series (honorarium + commission)
